Jul 26, 2011

The Microsoft Office software can be very difficult to remove from your system. This is because of the amount of different programs that get installed on your computer as part of the package. You will end up with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Money and more. If a file becomes corrupted it can prevent you from uninstall certain parts of the package.

How To Uninstall Microsoft Office

The process for removing the software will differ depending on what version you have on your system. Generally this method will work best for all of them, though you could be left with a couple files on your system registry that will need manual removal.

To remove the package you must:

1. Locate the Control Panel. This is found in the Start menu.
2. Find the icons that are labelled either Programs and Features or Uninstall Program. Double click the icon.
3. Wait for the list of software to populate. Once it has finished hight the Microsoft Office area.
4. Click the uninstall button, wait for windows to finish the process and then restart your computer.
5. Repeat the process if there are other files that are associated with the software.

Next I would highly recommend that you run a Disk Cleanup. This can be found in the System Tools area. This process will delete any useless software that you have on your system. If you are left with any desktop icons then delete these and remove them from your recycle bin. After this if you are still left with any unwanted programs then you will have to manually delete them from the system registry.

Using Software To Remove Microsoft Office

If you use software to delete other programs then you will be able to complete the process a lot faster. It is also a lot safer than taking the manual route as you won't need to search the system registry for files to delete. This can cause a lot of problems in the long run if you remove the wrong file or folder. There is a program called the Perfect Uninstaller. This software will:

Delete corrupted data from your system registry.
Works faster than windows Add/Remove Programs.
Will speed up your computer loading times.
Will clean your system registry of all unwanted files.
